The real HSK 2 exam has 60 questions: 35 in listening (about 25 minutes) and 25 in reading (22 minutes), roughly 55 minutes in total. It is scored out of 200 and 120 is a pass; there is still no writing section. Engame's HSK 2 mock test follows the same 35 + 25 split with a 25 + 22 minute clock and reports an estimated score out of 200.

At HSK 2 you can handle simple, routine exchanges on familiar topics: ordering food, asking the way, talking about your day or your plans. The HSK 2.0 word list doubles to 300 words, and the grammar takes a real step up.
Typical HSK 2 structures: 比 for comparisons, 过 for past experience, 正在 for something in progress, 要…了 for something about to happen and 因为…所以… for reasons. If these feel natural in short sentences, you are close to exam level.
The organisers' 2010 table puts HSK 2 at CEFR A2. It is a good target after a first year of part-time study, and many learners take it to have a recognised certificate before moving to the more demanding HSK 3. On its own, HSK 2 is not usually enough to study a degree in Chinese.
