HSK 5 is where the official description mentions reading Chinese newspapers and magazines, watching films and plays and giving a full speech. The HSK 2.0 list grows to 2,500 words, and passages use the written register: 之所以…是因为…, 即使…也…, 不仅…而且….
The 2010 table equates HSK 5 with CEFR C1; most teachers outside China would call a fresh HSK 5 pass solid B2. It is a frequent requirement for postgraduate study in Chinese and for jobs where you read and write Chinese every day.
Most learners take HSK 5 after HSK 4 plus a long period of extensive reading. The vocabulary gap between the two levels, 1,300 new words, is the largest step in the HSK 2.0 system.

Many people take a nap at noon, but some find that after sleeping for over an hour they wake up groggy and can't get going all afternoon. Why is that? Researchers explain that sleep has several stages, light and deep. About half an hour after falling asleep, a person enters deep sleep. If woken suddenly at this point, the brain hasn't fully "booted up", and the person feels even more tired. So a nap is best kept to about twenty minutes, which lets the brain rest without entering deep sleep. Also, don't lie down right after lunch; it is better to take a short walk first and sleep ten or fifteen minutes later. If you really can't lie down, leaning back in a chair with your eyes closed to rest can also help to some extent. Of course, a nap is only a supplement and cannot replace a full night's sleep.
